Vertechs SAIF Self-Setting Dissolvable Plug System is an integrated solution that combines a disposable setting tool with the Wizard dissolvable plug. The system sets the plug autonomously, eliminating the need for additional setting tools or a Wireline Adapter Kit (WLAK). By connecting the Wizard plug directly to the disposable setting tool, the SAIF system removes the requirement for WLAK – along with its associated onsite maintenance and inspection procedures. This innovation reduces the overall plug BHA length by 66.8%, which facilitates run-in-hole (RIH) and pump-down operations, thereby enhancing pump-down efficiency. Furthermore, the SAIF system requires zero onsite maintenance – from delivery at the Vertechs facility to unboxing and assembly on the wireline BHA at the wellsite. This streamlined approach helps reduce human error-related non-productive time (NPT) and improves operational efficiency.

By eliminating the need for a traditional Wireline Adapter Kit (WLAK) and conventional setting equipment, the SAIF system significantly reduces non-productive time (NPT) and accelerates pump-down operations.

SAIF Assembly
The OD measures 3.858 inches, with a total length of 33.937 inches. The compact profile facilitates passage through wellbore restrictions. It delivers 55,000 lbs of setting force, achieving a secure and reliable set. It is rated for operation at temperatures up to 150°C and is suitable for high‑pressure environments up to 17,400 psi.
Optional Component
A SmartFin is available as an optional addition to enhance pump-down fluid efficiency.
