Unlocking Deformed Wells with High-Expansion Dissolvable Plug: Vertechs at the V Symposium Argentina 2026

We’re excited to share highlights from Vertechs Group’s presentation at the V Symposium on Exploration & Production of Unconventional Resources 2026 in Neuquén Argentina, following the on-site talk!

One of the key challenges in unconventional completion, not only post-patching, is the restricted and irregular casing geometry, which often prevents conventional tools from being effectively deployed. To address this, Vertechs introduced its slim, high-expansion dissolvable plug (Wizard HEDP Dissolvable Plug), specifically engineered for these complex conditions.

With its smaller OD design, the plug can smoothly pass through deformed and reduced-ID sections, while its high expansion capability ensures reliable setting even in irregular casing profiles. Once the operation is completed, the plug fully dissolves downhole, eliminating the need for milling, preserving casing integrity, and significantly simplifying the overall workflow.

Field applications and data analysis have demonstrated the effectiveness of this integrated approach. In southwest of China, the solution delivered a 55% increase in total production and up to a 14-fold surge in oil production rates.
