Vertechs at ADIPEC 2026: 3D Geological Outcrop Digital Twins and Subsurface Wellbore Correlation

2026-11-06

A valuable exchange of ideas at ADIPEC 2026, where Vertechs explored how 3D geological outcrop digital twins can be correlated with subsurface well data through a structured, auditable workflow.

In controlled synthetic tests, the approach reduced depth registration RMSE from 4.67 m to 0.27 m, while composite geological matching achieved 91.68% accuracy, compared with 42.45% using stratigraphic-name similarity alone. These results highlight the potential of integrating geometric registration with multiple sources of geological evidence.
