However, this technique introduces operational challenges including irregular wellbore ID at plug setting depth and reduced inner diameter at liner hanger, which potentially smaller than standard plug OD.

This solution has been successfully deployed in Northwest China, where downhole temperatures average 140°F. After installing expandable tubular patching in the horizontal section (final ID: 4.13"), the narrowest restriction - a liner hanger with an ID of just 3.62".
